INTRODUCTION
 A light based wireless communication
technology known as Li-Fi
 LI-FI  Light Fidelity.
 According to the developer
--Dr. Harald Haas
-- LI-FI is the transmission of data through
illumination, sending data through LED bulb
that varies in intensity faster than human eye
can follow.
 only visible light is used.
•The LI FI product consist of four sub assemblies.
1. A high bright whiteness LED.
2. RF power amplifier(PA).
3. Printed Circuit Board(PCB).
4. Enclosure.
LI FI ROUTER
 Serves as a connector to external link like DSL.
 Covers a radius about 20 m.
The transmission speed is 100 Mbps.
Suitable for small office or home use.
CONSTRUCTION
ISSUES REGARDING RADIOSPECTRUM
WHYONLYVLC
 Street lamps as free access points.
 Smarter power plants.
 Airlines
 On ocean beds.
AAPLICATIONS
Free access points
There are millions of street lamps deployed around the world,
each of these can be a free access point.
In Power plants
 It can be used in the environments where RF
cannot be used due to safety reasons
(e.g petro chemical plants, nuclear power plants).
AIRLINES
ON OCEAN BEDS
LI-FI can work under water where fails completely
thus throwing open endless opportunities for
military and navigation operations.
 Light cannot pass through objects. Hence , range is short.
 interferences from external light sources, like sunlight, normal
bulbs and opaque materials in the path of transmission will cause
interruption in the communication.
High installation cost of theVLC systems.
 A major challenge facing LI-FI is how the device will transmit back
to transmitter.
LIMITATIONS
In order to thrive in a market of wireless technology, LI-FI system have to
meet following criteria .
 it must meet criteria of 3I
Low Interference
Low Power
Low Maintenance
It must also have 3H
High reliability
High affordability
High data rate
