'Probing into the Prospects of Noise
Pollution'

Background:
• Any unwanted sound that creates
disturbance into the normal functioning
of human activity is defined as noise.
• Regular exposure to the unwanted sound
levels may create many psychological
and anatomical problems in the human
body.

Introduction:
• By the year 2050, all the conventional energy resources would get exhausted.
• According to the law of conservation of energy, 'Energy can neither be created, nor
destroyed; but can be converted from one form to another'.
• Noise in itself has energy in it.
• There are various forms of renewable energy i.e. solar energy, wind energy, etc.
• But noise pollution in itself can can be the new renewable energy that can be called
as the 'Noise Energy'.

Objective:
• To identify the possible ways to convert noise pollution to electricity.
• To create a model that may convert noise pollution to electricity.

Approach:
• Sound energy is the mechanical form of energy which travel in the
form of oscillations.
• The sound wave displaces back and forth because of the potential
energy compression and the kinetic energy of the oscillation.
• This energy could be harvested in the two possible ways.

Advantages:
• Due to the conversion of sound energy to the electric energy it is
possible to use energy in abundance.
• Lighten the street lights with a vehicle's horn.
• The heavy noise pollution at the source could be converted to the
electricity.
• With this technology, noise pollution could be reduced.

Future Prospects:
• To increase the efficiency of the system so that it will increase the
power.
• To reduce it's initial cost.
• To make the installation cheaper.
• To make it work effectively at the places with low noise levels.

Conclusion:
• By the year 2050, when the world would have to cut off all it's
fossil fuel based plants, noise energy will play a crucial role in
coping with the energy crisis.
• It is a future energy.
• The efficiency of the mechanism has to increased.
• The change in material opens new dimensions for research in
the field of Material Science.
