the Books of Samuel in the Hebrew Bible.
He is also known as a prophet by
Christians and Muslims

8. • These were dark days, full of suffering brought
about by the Israelites’ apostasy and
immorality.
 The book of Ruth was written to the Israelites. It
teaches the genuine love at times may require
uncompromising sacrifice.
 It is the 8th book on the Old Testament

10. Ruth- A Moabite woman who was the wife
of Mahlon, son of Naomi, who later on
married the wealthy Israelite land owner
named Boaz. She was also known as
“Harvest Girl”
Naomi- Hebrew wife of Elimelech
and mother of Mahlon and
Chilion. She is also the mother-
in-law of Ruth.

11. Boaz- A wealthy Israelite who helped Ruth
and Naomi in their living after coming
back from Moab who also in the end
married Ruth and had a baby named
Obed.
Mahlon- First son of Naomi and
Elimelech and the deceased
husband of Ruth.

Elimelech who was also the
deceased husband of Orpah.
Orpah- A Moabite woman who married
the second son of Naomi, Chilion
which made her the second daughter-
in-law of Naomi.

The story took place at Bethlehem and Moab
Circa during the latter period of judges.
