1. AMY ANTOINETTE JEAN-BATISTE
Amy Antoinette Jean-Batiste is a not-for-profit leader and executive coach based in New
Orleans, LA. Fueled by a love for mission and vision, she provides thought leadership in
areas including fund and financial development strategies, strategic planning, board
development and program innovation. She holds a wealth of experience generating
revenue streams, private and public philanthropy and broad based community support
for local as well as national nonprofit organizations.
While she boasts several credentials in fundraising and transformational leadership, her
genuine skill lies in her emotional intelligence. “Amy speaks to you as if you are the only
person in the room,” says many of her colleagues, “and leaves with time, talent and
treasure commitments from everyone she met while there.”
The child of civil rights activists, Amy gained a passion for servant leadership at a very
early age. Amy continued her passion as a cause driven leader while completing her BS in
both Political Science & Secondary Education at Howard and Georgia State Universities
(Augusta). She also completed an M. Ed in Divergent Learning from Columbia College. While pursuing her education,
she continued to be active in the community and serving others in a variety of campus and community based
organizations. She is currently working on a MBA and PhD in Organizational Leadership at Our Lady of the Lake
University.
As a funding development professional, Amy has been successful in securing large-scale plans and critical program
funding in excess of $6M annually while simultaneously successfully securing capital funding for special projects and
long range goals and initiatives. Amy has fine-tuned the art of keeping donor cultivation on track with the strategic goals
of an organization, while often working with the same donor base to encourage them to “monetize the missions” they
hold dear through continued philanthropic investment and legacy gifts.
Strategic planning is critical to the success of fundraising and financial planning goals. Amy gained critical experience
driving strategic planning activities with internal staff and more importantly with various volunteer stakeholders and
boards. Amy’s ability to take the operational goals of an organization and turn those plans into a compelling value
proposition that foundations, corporations and individuals will support is where her strengths shine through. Over the
years she has turned this into a successful career with stops along the way at the YMCAs of San Antonio and Greater
New Orleans, UJAMAA Community Development Corporation and Neighborhood Housing Services.
While storytelling is obviously more than a mere business pitch, Amy is effective in using real stories that engage the
audience in ways that catalyze movement and incite passion similar to mesmerized audience of our history’s most
charismatic ministers! Her masterful command of language and intentional action emanate from her authentic
leadership style. Amy causes those who listen to grasp hold to visions of a future yet to behold.
