■ Definition of rectifier
■ Half wave rectifier
■ Centre tap full wave rectifier
■ Full wave bridge rectifier
3. What is rectifier?
■ A rectifier is an electrical device that converts an alternating current (AC) into a direct one
(DC) by allowing a current to flow through it in one direction only.
■ Rectifiers are of two types :
Half wave rectifier
Full wave rectifier
5. Full wave rectifier
■ The following two circuits are commonly used for full wave rectification:
– Centre tap full wave rectifier
– Full wave bridge rectifier
