Consolidating 56 data centers down to 6, moving 75% of infrastructure
to cloud in the process, and re-allocating more than $100M toward
key business drivers.
Migrated 300+ applications in one year for a savings of $14M.
Globe uses services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS and AWS
Lambda for its daily business workloads and processes, and have
enjoyed savings of close to USD 2 million since.
Uses Amazon S3 to host more than 23,000 on-demand titles. They
also use EC2 with more than a thousand instances running daily,
and deliver close to 2 petabytes of content every month.

READINESS AND

Project Control focuses on ensuring there is a migration
strategy in place that is supported by key stakeholders in the
organisation. Additionally, we look at defining the team that
will carry out the work, with associated timelines and cost
estimations.
Sample decision points:
• Who is the executive sponsor?
• Are there any compelling events that will affect the
migration strategy?
• Do we have the right resources? How are they organised?
• What are the timeframes we are working with?
• Do we have the necessary budget?

READINESS AND
PLANNING
Operations Integration focuses on planning, guiding, and
supporting an efficient progression of the operational model
during the migration. This includes defining a desired ITSM
state and support model that covers tools, people, and
processes.
Sample decision points:
• How will the execution of the migration factory impact
normal operations?
• Who are the support teams and partners that will interact
with the cloud environments?
• How will we scale operations in a hybrid or all-in model?
• What is our BCP/ DR playbook?

READINESS AND
PLANNING
Security focuses on helping customers build a structured
approach that will accelerate the readiness for migration
projects. This includes creating foundational security
capability to support the migration and ongoing operations
once the migration is complete.
Sample tasks:
• Securing IAM users and groups
• Creating managed IAM policies
• Preparing account for monitoring and logging
• Launching Security Baseline AWS CloudFormation
templates
• Configuring Amazon SNS notifications

Sample Case Study: Customer Profile
Industry: An organisation from the Insurance sector. 85% focused on consumer sector
with 15% focused on commercial sector.
Geographical coverage: Regional HQ in Singapore with offices in Indonesia, Philippines,
Malaysia, South Korea, China, and Japan. Majority of business in Southeast Asia.
IT Assets: Primary regional datacenter (DC) in Singapore and Backup regional DC in
Singapore. Both DCs were coming for lease expiry and the CIO wanted to migrate as
much as possible to AWS.
Application landscape: 150 applications residing on 600 servers. Majority of servers were
virtualized but some used bare metal servers too.
People: Internal IT infrastructure, operations and security teams. Off-shore teams for
application development. 90% of workforce were field sales agents.
