To Whom It May Concern:
Alyssa Pender completed the ICAL TESLfl' EFL Certificate in February 2008. The Work involved all aspects of Teaching English
as a Second or Foreign Language including needs analysis, syllabus design, lesson planning, classroom management, strategies in
language learning, teaching methods, testing & error correction etc.
I worked with Alyssa as her personal tutor and during her time with ICAL I was able to make a good assessment of her
Capabilities and progress through her Work on the assignments.
Alyssa worked hard throughout the course, showing a good understanding ofthe concepts in each module and taking into account
learning she had experienced in previous modules. She displayed creativity in the activities and exercises she suggested for her
classes and was open to suggestions on ways to improve her work. In fact, she seemed always happy to receive feedback of any
kind. Alyssa showed appreciation for a student­centered approach and seemed to have a good understanding of hovv to Work
with students and how to engage their interest as Well as offer them the language practice they need. She was also able to
structure lessons and follow­up activities logically and as a cohesive whole.
In her time studying the course, I found Alyssa to be very pleasant to work with and an enjoyable student to teach. I am sure that
she will be a valuable asset to the staff of any English Language Institute.
