Wells Engineering Manager for BP joint venture with Statoil and Sonatrach in Algeria. Managed
culturally diverse team of 26 x Drilling, Completion and Frac Engineers. Drilling was mainly horizontal
development wells on 4 x land rigs and a Fraccing / Well Testing spread. Also was Technical Authority
for Well Interventions Team. Drilling Managers were Keith Coghill (BP) and Sven Reber (Statoil).
Mar 11 – Sept 12 Tullow Well Engineering Supervisor
Well Engineering Supervisor for deepwater (1,000 – 2,000m water depths) exploration, appraisal and
development wells in Ghana, Jubilee field. Supervised team of expat and local Drilling, Completion and
Well Testing engineers. Managers : Alan Dowokpor, Anthony Clark, Chris Roos and Brian Teggart.
Feb 04 – Feb 11 BG Snr Drilling Engineer
Operations Drilling Engineer then Technical Contracts Engineer in Well Operations Department,
Kazakhstan. Previously Regional Well Engineer supporting BG’s well operations in Kazakhstan and

June 03 – Jan 04 CAIRN Snr Drilling Engineer
All preparatory work and operations for deepwater, semi-submersible, drilling operation. Drilling
hazards included prolific “shallow water flow”. Prepared tenders for rig, all associated services and
subsequent Bid evaluation. Specified equipment, ordered tangibles. Prepared drilling programme, well
reports, casing design and cost estimates. Reported to John Dwyer.

Russian drilling campaign in Urengoy, Siberia. Moscow - Prepared Technical Specs for construction of
2 rigs and planned 35 extended reach horizontal wells for Prirazlomnoye project, a gravity based,
offshore, ice resistant, platform in Barents Sea, Russian Arctic. Germany, Dieksand field - Extended
reach horizontal wells with >8,000m departure. North Sea – supporting jack-up rig operations. Libya -
supporting 3 land rigs. Reported to John Gerstenlauer.
Jun 94 – Dec 97 BP Ops Drilling Engineer
Operations DE for Foinaven field – deepwater (500m), extended reach horizontal wells. Planned first
dual lateral well for Foinaven - reported to Dave Howes and Don Forbes. Prepared report entitled
“Feasibility of dual lateral well in Marnock HPHT reservoir”. Prepared Front End Engineering Design
Drilling work for Foinaven - reported to Carl Mountford and Graham Prentice. Prepared Design and
Ops Safety Case submissions for Foinaven. Prepared Multi-well application to HSE for Foinaven
development - reported to Alan Nelson. Created system to produce AFEs and track Daily Drilling Costs
