3. The Qur'an mentions several fruits that
modern science has shown to have a
preventive effect on several diseases. Fruits,
which benefit the human body in many ways,
also taste very good. In the Qur'an, Allah
draws attention to their diversity and beauty
and calls people to ponder upon their
miraculous creation:
4. 1.Banana in Quran
He sends down water from the sky from
which We bring forth growth of every kind,
and from that We bring forth the green
shoots and from them We bring forth close-
packed seeds, and, from the spathes of the
date-palm, date clusters hanging down,
and gardens of grapes and olives and
pomegranates, both similar and dissimilar.
Look at their fruits as they bear fruit and
ripen. There are signs in that for people
who believe. Surat al-An'am: 99

6. 2. Cucumber in Quran
And [recall] when you said, "O Moses, we can
never endure one [kind of] food. So call upon your
Lord to bring forth for us from the earth its green
herbs and its cucumbers and its garlic and its
lentils and its onions." [Moses] said, "Would you
exchange what is better for what is less? Go into
[any] settlement and indeed, you will have what
you have asked." And they were covered with
humiliation and poverty and returned with anger
from Allah [upon them]. That was because they
[repeatedly] disbelieved in the signs of Allah and
killed the prophets without right. That was
because they disobeyed and were [habitually]
transgressing
verse (2:61) of chapter (2) sūrat l-baqarah (The
7. 3.Date in Quran
The pains of labour drove her to the trunk
of a date-palm. She [Maryam] said, "Oh if
only I had died before this time and was
something discarded and forgotten!" A
voice called out to her from under her, "Do
not grieve! Your Lord has placed a small
stream at your feet. Shake the trunk of the
palm towards you and fresh, ripe dates will
drop down onto you. Eat and drink and
delight your eyes…" (Qur'an, 19:23-26)
8. Date ----
In the earth there are diverse regions side by
side and gardens of grapes and cultivated
fields, and date-palms sharing one root and
others with individual roots, all watered with
the same water. And We make some things
better to eat than others. There are Signs in
that for people who use their intellect. Surat ar-
Ra'd: 4
A voice called out to her from under her: "Do
not grieve! Your Lord has placed a small
stream at your feet. Shake the trunk of the
palm toward you, and fresh, ripe dates will
drop down to you. Eat and drink and delight
your eyes …" Surah Maryam: 24-26
9. 4. Fig in Quran
By the fig and the olive [95:1]
In The Name of Allah, The beneficent, The Merciful
1. By the Fig and the Olive,
2. And (Mount) Tur of Sinin,
3. And this city of security (Mecca),
4. We have indeed created man in the best of moulds,
5. Then We render him the lowest of the low,
6. Save those who believe and do righteous deeds, for
them is a reward unending.
7. What then makes you reject thereafter the Last
Judgement?
8. Is not Allah the Most Just of judges ?
10. 5. Garlic in Quran
And [recall] when you said, “O Moses, we can

11. 6.Grape in Quran
He causes to grow for you thereby the crops,
olives, palm trees, grapevines, and from all the
fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who
give thought.
verse (16:11) of chapter (16) sūrat l-naḥl (The
Bees):
By means of it We produce gardens of
dates and grapes for you, in which there
are many fruits for you and from which you
eat. Surat al-Mu'minun: 19

And [recall] when you said, “O Moses, we can
never endure one [kind of] food. So call upon
your Lord to bring forth for us from the earth its
green herbs and its cucumbers and its garlic
and its lentils and its onions.” [Moses] said,
“Would you exchange what is better for what is
less? Go into [any] settlement and indeed, you
will have what you have asked”…’ (Qur’an,
2:61)
13. 8.Olive in Quran
“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.
The parable of His Light is as (if there were) a
niche and within it a lamp, the lamp is in glass, the
glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed
tree, an olive, neither of the east (i.e., it neither
gets sun-rays only in the morning) nor of the west
(i.e., nor does it get sun-rays only in the afternoon
– but it is exposed to the sun all day long), whose
oil would almost glow forth (of itself), though no
fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allah guides to
His Light whom He wills. And Allah sets forth
parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of
everything.” [Surah al-Noor 24:35]
14. Olive Contd
And He it is who causes gardens to grow, [both] trellised and
untrellised, and palm trees and crops of different [kinds of]
food and olives and pomegranates, similar and dissimilar. Eat
of [each of] its fruit when it yields and give its due [zakah] on
the day of its harvest. And be not excessive. Indeed, He does
not like those who commit excess. [Surah al-Anaam, 6:141]
And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that
grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters.” [Surah al-
Muminoon 23:20].
He sends down water from the sky. From it you drink,
and from it come the shrubs among which you graze
your herds. By it He makes crops grow for you, as well
as olives and dates and grapes and fruit of every kind.
There is certainly a Sign in that for people who
reflect. Surat An-Nahl: 10-11

And [recall] when you said, “O Moses, we can

16. 10. Pomegranate in Quran
It is He Who sendeth down rain from the skies: with it We
produce vegetation of all kinds: from some We produce green
(crops), out of which We produce grain, heaped up (at
harvest); out of the date-palm and its sheaths (or spathes)
(come) clusters of dates hanging low and near: and (then
there are) gardens of grapes, and olives, and pomegranates,
each similar (in kind) yet different (in variety): when they
begin to bear fruit, feast your eyes with the fruit and the
ripeness thereof.Behold! in these things there are signs for
people who believe. (Surah Al-An‘am, 99)
It is He Who produceth gardens, with trellises and without,
and dates, and tilth with produce of all kinds, and olives and
pomegranates, similar (in kind) and different (in variety): eat
of their fruit in their season, but render the dues that are
proper on the day that the harvest is gathered.But waste not
by excess: for Allah loveth not the wasters. (Surah Al-An‘am,
141)
