1. Q.1 How do your products use or
challenge conventions and how do they
represent social groups or issues?
2. My product clearly uses the convention as a teenage boy is mentally upset and falls into
depression and anxiety after losing one of his loved ones which leads him to smoke and
hurt himself. This is totally according to the today’s society where teenagers are more of a
target on drug intake and self-harm.
3. The story line will attract my audience especially teenagers as it has everything to do with
them. Being the center of attention helps the audience to gain interest in such things. On
the other side it gives the audience a message on how to tolerate stuff like these and not
to take such actions, as everyone has their own problems and weaknesses. We should learn
how to deal with it as life is too short, we better make the best out of it; focus on the
positive side and throw away all the negativity which is holding us back.
4. My story line represents the major issue amongst the youth of taking drugs and hurting
themselves. This can help them think what these stuff can do to them also parents will be
aware of what’s going on around the society as most of our parents don’t even think
what their children are going through. Maybe their problems are small but they are small
too, they need proper attention and support which should restrain them to go on these
things.
5. Q.2 How do the elements of your
production work together to
create a sense of ‘branding’?
6. The elements of my production are very simple and according to the stereo-type, as now
a days people do feel stupid and do not feel acceptable in the society. They think that
every problem happening is only with them, which is obviously not the case as each and
every individual is going through something, but they don’t accept the fact that life is to
survive and good days do come after some struggle.
7. This is how my story can work as a source of branding or promoting the music video, it
contains a complete story, appropriate angles and lighting, also the editing is done in such
a way that makes the video interesting. This will help promote my video as youth is my
center of attention and they are the heart of social media these days who like to listen to
songs, especially like these in order to connect their situation with the song and feel relief.
8. Q.3 How does your product engage
with the audience and how would they
be distributed as real media products?
9. My product would engage as the music is very popular and I have chosen it to sync with
my story of actually being NUMB. As I made a poster which can be posted on different
social applications such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and much more.
10. My video can be posted on YouTube as it has a worldwide connection of distributing
videos through its platform. YouTube has billions of viewers which can help my video
to be watched easily.
11. We can also contact any distribution company such as LANDR. and link with our AS
studios to distribute our music video in order to gain support and audience acceptance.
People will be more interested if a bigger production or a distribution company takes
over. They can actually give reviews to our product which will help it to grow much faster.
12. Q.4 How did you integrate
technologies – software, hardware
and online – in this project?
13. The camera I used was Nikon D3300 along with a tripod. The camera helped me shoot
the video in high quality and the tripod made the camera stable by which the viewer can
enjoy watching it without any interrupt or camera shake issues.
14. I edited on Adobe Premier Pro as it has various features to edit and is also an easy
software to work on.
15. Made my blog on blogger.com, it is a user friendly website and much easier to post stuff
and also we can edit our posts once they’ve been posted.
16. In order to promote my video I made a poster on Adobe Photoshop which has
advanced editing features which helped me make the best thing out of it.
17. The picture I posted on my poster was taken by
the same camera as mentioned above and I edited
that picture on Adobe LightRoom.
18. I posted my video on YouTube in order to
connect with my audience and show them my
work. YouTube is the best platform these days
for posting videos and watching it easily.
19. A-level media studies was a new experience for me where I learned a lot about
the digital media and it’s market. Also it was fun and worth the hard work, my
photo and videography skills also enhanced and I hope I do bigger things in
future.
