1. 19: How do I create a new
virtual machine with the
specifications in this card?

2. Specifications:
• Name : "slackware",
• Type : Linux,
• Version : "Other Linux (32-bit)",
• RAM : 1024MB,
• Hard_disk_file_type : "VDI",
• Storeage : "Dynamically allocated",
• HD_Size : 25GB,
• Pointin_Device : PS / 2,
• PAE / NX : Enabled,
• DVD : slackware - installer.iso,
• Audio : Disabled,
• Network_adapter_1 : "Host-only Adapter",
• USB_Controller : Disabled

3. Open Virtual Box:

4. Once Virtual box is open: Click on ‘New’.

5. When Prompted enter the Name of the new virtual machine as
: ‘slackware’. Set the type as : ‘Linux’. Set the Version as ‘Other
Linux(32-bit)’. Click next.

6. Set the allocated RAM to 1024 MB. Click Next.

7. Click ‘Create a Virtual Hard Disk Now’.

8. Select VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image) and click next

9. Select ‘Dynamically Allocated’. Click Next.

10. Set the hard drive to 25 GB’s, and then click create.

11. Once you have clicked Create you will see the
following Virtual machine appear in your
VirtualBox manager:

12. Open the box’s settings. Go to system and
change the Pointing Device to PS / 2

13. Go to Processor, and enable PAE / NX

14. Disable Audio

15. Go to Network and change the ‘Attached to’
setting to ‘Host-only Adapter’

16. Disable USB Controller

17. Completed!
• The Slackware box’s settings are now configured.
