 Ground-up infrastructure design
Architected using hosted implementation of active/active cross failover servers, geographically separated with
automated database/webserver high availability serving 80+ high volume SaaS clients. Fully monitored with
automated issue resolution, alert escalation and cross witness triggered failover of either or both of a
webserver/dbserver pair, all self developed for Cake Marketing. This enabled simple client migrations, patch
management, server reboots, upgrades and maintenance without any downtime.
 Architected client on-boarding automation - from manual 3-5 day process to 1 hour.
Developed solution to automate creation of: databases, websites, failover databases and failover websites,
single and multi-ssl certificates and bindings, application pools, db security, initial data and configs, external
systems integrations via APIs, QA testing and release management. All dynamically based on specific client
requirements collected in a meta-data application also self developed. This project realized huge success after
a 760% growth (30 to 230) of their existing client base in 11 months. Each client brings a high transaction
volume implementation using very large tables (300miliion rows+) with a maximum performance latency
requirement of <1sec for multiple parallel real-time database procedures involving inserts, recursive updates,
merging large datasets, table triggers implementing updates, and all concurrent to contention sensitive parallel
threads doing read-committed queries over the same data in fault tolerant asynchronous mirrored failover

the core listings data that merges on the new vendor raw data formats. Documented disparate core data flow
systems, created UML diagrams of existing data and process flows, performed gap analysis, designed and
implemented enhancements using the UML diagrams, designed and integrated testing via UML, and project
managed the rewrite of the new parallel data flow processing for the core listings data from all data vendors for
this top 10 ranked search engine technology company.

SQL Server Developer and Production DBA
 SQL Development, SSIS Development and Production SQL DBA – Served as SQL Developer on a
25 person development team for in-house applications which are the core competency of the company serving
60,000+ users across 20 SQL servers. Developed SSIS high performance multi-threaded parallel data
processing for nightly data dumps from all customers. Optimized hardware investments raising capacity across
all servers using performance based code release and production control. Optimization and troubleshooting for
complex SSIS Server multithreaded issues and the originator of at least 2 Microsoft KB articles repairing pre-
service pack issues in SSIS Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 during my 3 month term. Setup SQL Agent job
step results based alerting for the 110,000+ nightly job steps. Implemented data analysis for job step
monitoring and performance monitoring focused on exception reporting and trend identification for capacity
planning and data issue awareness. Project manager and technical lead on planning, testing and
implementation of in place conversions of all 23 SQL servers from SQL2000 and SQL2005 to SQL2008,
including database code upgrades, administrative optimizations and SSIS2005 conversions to SSIS2008 and
DTS2000 conversions to SSIS2008 including ActiveX to SSIS scripting code conversions and developed a
custom programmatic execution infrastructure coupled to a custom programmatic package deployment and
modification solution.

 SQL Development - Supported in house development department of 16 developers with newly implemented
development and release to production protocols controlling performance, compliance, security and end user
testing metrics. Applied optimizations to current and older in place code to bring all in house development
systems to compliance and maximize hardware investments via performance metric based protocols. Provided
SQL development mentoring and release management as liaison to the development team in a multi-staged
environment. Managed applications consulting development services for data access, security and release
protocol management.
 DBA/SQL Development: Implemented and managed multiple disconnected and connected replication
methods. Designed, implemented and administered audited multi-authorization based security for SOX.
Primary monitoring and support for all SQL Servers (12 total production, 2 Win2003/SQL2005 clusters, 1
Win2008/SQL2008 cluster, 6 development servers and 1 testing server). Implemented and administered
performance monitoring, alerting, and issue resolution system on all SQL servers. Conversions from SQL2000
