1. The Impact of Uplifting The Girl Child Across India
Last year, the SHIKSHA Initiative orchestrated a transformative workshop catering to the
dedicated Anganwadi workers. Among the esteemed attendees were Mrs. Poonam Tiwari,
District Program Officer (DPO) of Gautambudh Nagar; Mrs. Manju Verma, Child Development
Project Officer (CDPO) in Dadri; Mr. Radhey Shyam, Child Development Protection Officer
(CDPO) in Sikandrabad; and Mrs. Neha, Head of Gram Panchyat in Chithera. Accompanying
them were a devoted team of Anganwadi workers and helpers, collectively invested in the cause.
The primary objective of this workshop was to facilitate a dynamic exchange of experiences,
insights, and forward-looking strategies following the successful culmination of a 30-day pilot
Anganwadi program. This platform provided an invaluable opportunity for these devoted
workers to reflect on their journey, share best practices, and collectively chart a course for the
future.
A highlight of the session was the engaging presentations, wherein the participants showcased
their pilot program experiences. They even conducted a live demonstration featuring Teaching-
Learning Materials (TLMs) ingeniously crafted from recycled materials. The ingenious use of
TLMs emerged as an integral part of the program, ensuring sustained engagement of the young
learners.
During the workshop, Mrs. Swati Singhal and Mr. Nitin Kumar Mishra from the SHIKSHA
Initiative shed light on the far-reaching impact of the AWC Program. Mr. Pranjal Kumar Baruah,
the IT Head, highlighted the pivotal role of ICT-based content delivery systems in modern
education.
In recognition of their unwavering dedication and outstanding contributions throughout the
program, the Anganwadi workers were honored and celebrated by Mr. Robin Sarkar, the Project
Director of the SHIKSHA Initiative. Their tireless efforts in preserving the smiles of countless
children stand as a testament to the profound impact of initiatives like SHIKSHA in nurturing a
brighter, more hopeful future.
