MVMT?
MVMT is an American company selling quality
watches at an affordable price alongside their
sunglasses and other accessories. Founded in
2013, the goal of MVMT was to create
watches for millennials following current
fashion trends.
To date, MVMT have made over 90 million in
revenue and sold over 1.5 million watches,
sunglasses and other accessories.
So
How did they do it?
Social Media & Influencer Marketing
MVMT knew the power of social media and influencer marketing before “influencer
marketing” became popular. When they started in the beginning, they started
working with photographers on Instagram.
They would take amazing photos and tag MVMT on Instagram and MVMT would use
User generated content to post on their profile.

MVMT dominated every social media
platform. From YouTube to Pinterest
all the way to Facebook/Instagram.
They made sure they adapted all their
strategies to each platform according
to their audience, while keeping their
message and values intact.

Influencer marketing has worked wonders
with MVMT. Without influencer marketing
MVMT could’ve been like the rest in the watch
industry. Plain and boring
Keep in mind the watch industry is very
saturated. Therefore MVMT needed a strategy
like influencer marketing to connect with
consumers who wouldn’t of found them
without friends and family posting on social
media.
Now MVMT made it extremely easy for
anyone to join their ambassador program
through their website.
MVMT Statistic
• Partnered with marketing agency Mediakix and launched their first influencer
marketing campaign with 62 influencers who averaged 47,000 followers, creating
73 sponsored Instagram posts
• After one week, they had over 100,000 likes, 2,800 comments and their
posts had been exposed to over 3 million people
• #jointhemvmt has over 160,000 publications
• They amass a total of over 1.4m followers on Instagram
• 3.6 million following on Facebook
Final Thoughts
MVMT did a great job in finding a way to be accepted and stand out in the watch
industry. Many people try to start a watch business but it never really works out.
This is why social media as a whole can boost your business exponentially if done
with care and investing in social media influencers. I loved how they used social
media to create trust with millions of people and now when they run paid
advertising on Facebook or Google, getting back those customers who haven’t
bought the watch yet is much easier. In terms of their layout on social media
platforms, it’s all very congruent and recognizable. Which is very important for
branding and making it seamless for your customers to recognize who you are.
