 Memori adalah bagian dari komputer tempat program –
program dan data – data disimpan.
 Istilah store atau storage untuk memori, meskipun kata
storage sering digunakan untuk menunjuk ke penyimpanan
disket.
 Tempat informasi, dibaca dan ditulis
 Aneka ragam jenis, teknologi, organisasi, unjuk kerja dan
harganya

satuan pokok memori, digit biner
Terdiri dari angka 0 dan 1
Byte
1 byte = 8 bit
1 kilobyte = 1024 bit

 Random
 Individual addresses identify locations exactly
 Access time is independent of location or previous access
 e.g. RAM

 Data is located by a comparison with contents of a portion of the
store

 Contoh : register yang terdapat di dalam prosesor, cache
memori dan memori utama berada di luar prosesor.
 Memori eksternal adalah memori yang diakses prosesor
melalui piranti I/O
 Contoh : Disket dan hardisk.
