6. My Templates – Managing (Create/Edit)
Currently in order to create/edit a template, you need to create, access, modify,
and store a live version (i.e. Create a Space/Folder/etc., configure it, then save it)
Rather than creating a copy of the template to edit and polluting your core
workspace with unused templates, ClickUp should offer a TemplateEditor.
When users act to create/edit a template it will show up in the TemplateEditor.
Users will still be able to create templates the same way as before.

10. TemplateEditor
The Problem
- To edit a template it must be in the workspace
- Editing existing template process
- Unarchive
- Edit
- Test with Sample Data
- Save
- Re-Archive
11. TemplateEditor
- As an alternative to editing/creating in the workspace, the template editor
opens the relevant subview (see next slide) in an isolated test environment.
- Users can configure and toggle the appearance of sample data to make sure
their template is behaving as expected.
- Can Show/Hide/Edit/Create/Delete Test Data – not copied when template is cloned.
- Saving in “edit template” mode will replace the existing template.
- Saving in “new template” mode will prompt the user for a template title.

17. Takeaways
ClickUp should prioritize building a lister for all templates to provide greater
insight on available templates and edit history.
ClickUp should build a template builder to reduce the complexity associated with
building templates
ClickUp should develop an online marketplace both to boost adoption and
revenue, and also supercharge the platform with crowd-sourced functionality
