2. INTRODUCTION
Unicellular organism do not have a separate alimentary
canal system.
Food is taken in directly into a cell by
phagocytosis/endocytosis and then with the help of
enzymes digested in a food vacuole.
3. AMOEBA
Amoeba move and feed by extending temporary structures
called pseudopodia.
Amoeba obtain its food by phagocytosis, engulfing
smaller organism and organic matters.
Food enveloped by the amoeba stored in the food
vacuoles.
5. HYDRA
Food is captured by the tentacles and then transferred to
the mouth and coelentron for extracellular digestion.
This followed by intracellular digestion as molecules and
food particles are disturbed by gastrodermal ciliary
currents in the coelenteron.
Undigested food vacuoles are exocytosed into the
coelenteron and then voided through the mouth, which is
thus anus also.
