Active team member of Camber Racing, a 35-member Formula Student
(Combustion) team, specializing in Engine Calibration, Powertrain Component
Design, Fabrication and Maintenance.
- Reverse engineered KTM Duke engine to function under aftermarket ECU.
Creation of base map, integration of aftermarket wideband lambda sensor,
measurement of metrics such as injector angles from stock throttle body,
definition of TDC through visual inspection of trigger wheel. Understanding and
deciding between various fuel injection modes vis-a-vis engine load parameters.
-Chassis dynamometer used to fine-tune calibration. Designed intake, exhaust
system components for maximum power/throttle response balance. Performed
preliminary calculations for cooling system, tested using a sponsored custom
radiator.
- Novice user of industry standard program, Ricardo WAVE for 1D engine
simulation.
- Learnt to handle team dynamics and managing responsibility - training recruits,
preparing cost and design reports, co-ordinating team activities.
- Familiar with Solidworks and CATIA CAD software for design.
- Team won the Indian event (SUPRA SAE) two consecutive years (2012, 2014),
and participated at Formula Student Germany (2015) in all dynamic events.
Current team is placed 2nd at Formula Student India (2015) with modified car.
Two training programs undertaken in auto ancillary industries for 15 days each:
1. Bhavani Industries, Rajkot (May 2013). OE manufacturers of gears, shafts, sleeves
etc for major automotive companies like Mahindra.
2. AutoTech Industries, Ambattur (December 2013). OE manufacturers of rocker
arm assemblies for companies like John Deere, Scania, BharatBenz etc.
Thus, gained an in-depth understanding of modern manufacturing and quality control
processes.
Winner of "Tech Talk", technical debate event organised by Association of
Mechatronics Engineers, SRM University.
