14. Life inTannery….
• Hazaribagh is our main tannery districts.
• Thousands of freshly killed animal skins come to this
place every morning.
• Hundreds of poor people’s life depends on this
leather. They work selflessly to insure the business
of the biggest brand names of the world.
• But these workers are not safe at all.They are totally
exposed to various kinds of threats.
• Nauseating and Vomiting smell of leather is the
least of all.
• A toxic chemical named Chromium is used for
processing the leather. It is banned in most of the
countries for its dangerous effect on the human
body.Continues exposure to Chromium leads to
Cancer.
• Most of the workers are working here from their
childhood and they feel chest pain frequently.
• Industrialists are requesting government to build
some same industrial park.But it seems authorities
have no care for that.
• As a result some of the owners have their own
dump system.

• Limited loan availability
• High cost of transportation

• Local leather entrepreneurs don’t have
enough marketing knowledge,
• The design and durability of local shoes
are not up to the mark.

17. Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh has
created a road map to be in the top 10 list of
leather exporting country by the year
2025.They have introduced various kinds of
training programe.This training programs are
teaching young entrepreneurs how to increase
productivity and value of product and various
skill based knowledge.
