The document discusses two case studies related to planning festivals:
1) The Wolverton Lantern Festival which needs to consider health and safety issues like fires and clean streets to prevent accidents. Announcements will be made every 15 minutes and emergency services contacted to be on standby.
2) The Beedale Photographic Festival where a company may want to promote a local photography exhibition to become known locally and support local talent, helping to raise awareness of their organization within the community.

Planning a Festival
Case Study 1: Wolverton Lantern Festival
What do you think are the health and safety considerations for the Wolverton
festival?
The Wolverton Festival need to consider the health and safety issue as fire is the main
thing in the festival. They have to be aware that accidents are likely to happen in the
festival. I think that the organisers should have more extra help as children are likely
to play with the fire and run about loosely in the festival. Since performers will be
performing in the street, the organisers need to make sure that the street is well
cleaned because if there was a litre on the floor it is most likely that the performers
might trip over them and that will be a big problem in the festival. So litre most be
considered for the health and safety issue. Accidents should be expected to happen in
festivals as there will be a lot of people gather round together, so to prevent people
from getting more injured or hurt the organisers of the festival should have emergency
ambulance to be ready to help.
How would you approach these issues?
I will approached this issues by making sure that there would be an announcement
every 15minutes to make sure that parents keep their children with them so that they
cant run loosely round the festival. I will make sure to contact the local community to
make the litre clear up from the streets. I will also contact the Local Police and
Hospitals to have the ambulance there and spread out through out the festival.
Case Study 2: Beedale Photographic Festival
What might a company want to be seen to be promoting a local photography
exhibition?
A company might want to be seen in a local photography exhibition to make their
company well known not just internationally/nationally but also locally. It also shows
that they are a company that supports local talents and local people. It shows that the
company want to be seen in the exhibition to make people aware of their organisation
and to come to them if they have an event or exhibition they need help with.
