Elements:
Different Kinds Of valves are used for the purpose of both
signal processing and as control elements. Directional
Control Valves are used as Control Elements.

Time Delay Valve
Depending on the setting of the throttling screw,
a greater or lesser amount of air flows per unit of
time into the air reservoir. When the necessary
control pressure has built up, the valve switches
to through flow. This switching position is
maintained for as long as the control signal is
applied.

When the applied control signal reaches the set
pressure, the 3/2- way valve incorporated at this
point is actuated. Conversely, the valve reversed, if
the control signal falls below the set pressure.
14. Use of pneumatic actuators for
transportation
Problem statement:
Two cylinders are used to transfer parts from a
magazine onto a chute.
When a push button is pressed, the first cylinder
extends, pushing the part from the magazine
and position it in preparation for transfer by the
second cylinder onto the outfeed chute. Once
the part is transferred, the first cylinder
retracts,followed by the second.
17. Edge Folding device
Problem statement:
Operation of two identical valves by push button causes
the forming tool of an edge folding device to thrust
downward and fold over the edge of the flat sheet of
cross sectional area 40*5.
19. Punching Machine
Problem statement:
A double acting cylinder is to advance when a push
button is operated. Upon realease of the push
button the cylinder is to retract. The cylinder is 250
mm diameter and consumes a large volume of air.
21. Marking Machine
Problem statement:
Surveyor's measuring rod in 3 or 5 m length are
marked in red with 200 mm graduation. There is
a choice of two push buttons to start the forward
movement of the measuring rod via cylinder ,
which has the exhaust air throttle. The idle
stroke, also started by a push button, can only
take place when the double acting cylinder has
reach its forward end position.
