Catholic Charities Diocese of Fresno is hosting their first annual Street Fair on a Friday evening in late May or early June. The goals of the event are to bring together clients, families, and neighbors in a fun environment and promote Catholic Charities' services. The street fair will include food trucks, vendors, game booths, and information tables from 4-8pm. Entertainment will include live music, games, and food. The minimum budget is $800 and volunteers are needed to help set up, operate booths, clean up, and provide security.

STREET FAIR
GOAL(S): To create a fun environment for the clients, families and neighboring
residents of Catholic Charities and to promote their other services. To have the children
and families come together and get to know the Catholic Charities family even more. To
host a fun event, which will hopefully go on for years to come.
OVERVIEW OF EVENT/DETAILED AGENDA:
8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Set up tables, chairs, booths, audio, lights and signs. Prepare
the tables with decorations, table covers. Prepare game booths and food tables.
3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Finalization. Make sure all signs are in view, game booths are
working, prepared food, drinks, etc.
4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Street fair takes place. One or two raffles would take place in
between that timeslot
8:15 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. – Close down the street fair
9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. – Clean up
THEME: Street fair-theme. Food trucks, vendors, game booths, tabling with service
information, etc.
WHO IS INVITED: This event will be open to the public (Needed: Lots of volunteers)
WHERE: Catholic Charities facility in Downtown Fresno.
WHEN: Late May, early June - preferably on a Friday evening – something the kids can
look forward too once they’ve finished school.
COST: Minimum budget of $800
HOW do folks buy tickets and/or RSVP? Tickets are not required, but people
interested can RSVP via Facebook Event page so there can be an estimated head count
for food, prizes, etc.
Giveaways: Pre-filled packages of donated food and toys.
Decorations: Décor that fits a street fair theme – lights all over, table covers, neon signs
and/or anything created by volunteers.
2. Entertainment/music: Anyone who is willing to perform for free, or play music through
large speakers. Music should be something upbeat, jazzy or easy listening to creative a
happy environment. Game booths will be the main source of entertainment.
First aid: Band aids, rubbing alcohol, gauze, etc. Will be kept at the main table
Lighting/sound/AV equipment: Lights hanging from the booths, large speakers if there
will be a live band, small speakers placed near the front for music being played from
Spotify or Pandora.
Parking: Street parking that’s near the facility.
Photography/Video: Catholic Charities members should take photos for social media
use.
Refreshments: Refreshments will be provided.
Registration: No need to register for the event, but people could register for the
services at the event if they would like.
Restrooms: Restrooms will be provided by the facility.
Room set-up: Game booths will be grouped by the back, near the food pantry area.
Live music could be set-up near the glass doors. Other tables would be set up around.
Food vendors would surround the game booths.
Seating: There will be tables and chairs for those who would like to sit.
Security: Will need to hire security to guard the facility.
Signage: Signs will be posted down the street to direct attendees to the facility. Since
the event will be outside, balloons can also be used as a way to find the event easily.
Staging: Evenly spaced out tables and booths
Written program: A program about the event is not needed, but Catholic Charities
pamphlets will be handed out.
Social Media Posting Plan: Hourly updates on all platforms throughout the evening –
photos of everyone in attendance (children playing games, adults hanging out, live
entertainment, group photos, close-ups of booths, etc.)
PUBLICITY: Fliers would be created and posted on all platforms (but mostly on
Facebook since there is a bigger following on that). Team up with media outlets – The
Fresno Bee, radio spots for local stations, etc.
EVALUATION: Ask adults to fill out a short survey, as they’re about to leave the event.
