NAME OF EVENT: Go Nuts for Nuts
OVERVIEW: This event includes fun and engaging activities for youth while exploring
nature to learn more about Girl Scout’s nuts and candies assortments.
GOAL(S) – The goal of this event is for people to be informed about the Nuts and
Candy sales that Girl Scouts do every fall, while being around nature.
THEME: squirrels
DETAILED AGENDA (What is going to happen in what order):
10:00-10:30 a.m. –The guest will go to the sign in table where they will be assigned a
team to do the scavenger hunt.
10:30- 10:45 a.m.- Those who will be participating will be gathered to go over the
rules.
10:45-11 a.m. during this time the guest will get in their teams and discuss their
game plan and set up before the start.
11 a.m.- noon. Scavenger hunt
Noon-12:15 p.m. Regroup back to the area
12:15- 1p.m. Prize giveaway/ dance party/ closing ceremony, face painting and
acorn decorating.
*While the scavenger hunt is taking place, we will also have face painting, acorn
decorating, as well as pre-orders for nuts and candies.
Scavenger Hunt:
Each team of 4 will have one hour to find each item on the given list.
One clipboard and 5 pieces of paper per person per team, and one set of color
pencils per team to draw what they find. One person of the team will be in charge
of taking pictures to prove they have actually found the item on the list. Children
between the ages 6-12 may participate in the scavenger hunt. Parents will be able
to accompany the children but not help while going on the nature walk.
WRITTEN PROGRAM (Will you have one? What will go in it?):
10:00-10:30 a.m. –Sign in
10:30- 10:45 a.m.- Going over the rules.
10:45-11 a.m. Gather into teams.
11 a.m.-noon Scavenger hunt
Noon-12:15 p.m. Regroup back to the area
12:15- 1:00 p.m. Prize giveaway/ dance party/ closing ceremony, face painting,
acorn decorating
WHO IS INVITED?: Anyone who is a fan of Girl Scouts, has young children, or loves
nuts. Children between the ages 6-12 may participate in the scavenger hunt.
Parents will able to accompany the children but not help while going on a nature
walk.
SPONSORS? We will ask Dasani to sponsor us with water. We will also ask some of
our current sponsors, such as CBS 47, Univision 21, Kaiser Permanente, and Tahoe
Joe’s, etc to help pay for the event cost.
WHERE: The event will be held at Woodward Park.
WHEN: The event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17

HOW do folks buy tickets and/or RSVP?
People will be able to buy tickets from the Girl Scouts or through the website
http://www.girlscoutsccs.org/
Giveaways (if any): The giveaways will include nut/candy badges, as well as
individual nut assortments of Butter Toasted Peanuts, Hot Cajun crunch, Honey
mustard pretzel mix and fruit slices per scavenger hunt participant. The grand prize
will be a basket containing the following: Butter Toasted Peanuts, Hot Cajun crunch,
Honey mustard pretzel mix and fruit slices, Whole cashews, English butter toffee,
Dark chocolate caramel caps, Peanut butter bears, Deluxe pecan clusters,
chocolate covered almonds, and Honey Roasted mixed nuts.
Decorations:
 Green tablecloths for each table
 Wanda the Squirrel
 Girl Scout logo/ poster
Entertainment/music: Music will be played from a laptop or device with music.
Music will be from Kids Bop Soundtracks. A face painter will be present for kids who
would like their face painted. We will also have acorns to decorate. Wanda the
squirrel will be wondering around throughout the event.
First aid (if needed): A box of Band aids will be provided.
Lighting/sound/AV equipment: Two large upright speakers, sound board,
connection cables, and extension cords for power sources.
Parking: Parking will be available throughout the park for 5 dollars.
Photography/Video: The Girl Scout employees will be taking pictures of the event
throughout the day and as needed.
Refreshments: water bottles and Capri suns. Two green buckets will be filled with the
refreshments with ice to cool them off.
Restrooms: There will be no need of additional restrooms aside of the ones in
Woodward park.
Room set-up/Seating/Stage: There will be one table set up for the guest to sign in.
Another table will be set up for the prizes. These two tables will be across from each
other from where they enter. Stage will be the speaker area where the microphone
will be accessible. A separate table will be needed to take in pre-orders for the nuts
and candy products.
Security (if needed): no security will be needed.
Signage: Arrow signs for location, Girl Scout signs to inform the people
Social Media Posting Plan: A post for the event will be made at least 3 weeks prior
to the event. A post with a picture included will be made at least once a day for
each platform.
Facebook: We understand it can be hard to parent your children at times, but we
will make it easy on Sunday Sept. 17. Come bring your children, your cousins,
anyone is welcome to come join us for Go Nutz for Nuts at Woodward park at 10
a.m. Get a chance to win some delicious nuts and candy and take pictures with
Wanda the squirrel.

PUBLICITY (How will you promote event?): The event will be published through each
social media platform since each target a different audience. An invitation will also
be sent to those subscribed to the newsletter. We will also invite those who have
volunteered with us, as well as to those that have and continue to donate money.
