ORGANISATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Presently working in Cummins Emissions Solutions India Ltd. as a Computational thermal fluid
Senior engineer
A brief about Product validation exposure-
Responsibilities-
2. Creating Design verification plan report and conducting test for various mechanical development
activities
A brief about testing activities-
Noise and vibration testing of EGP (Exhaust gas processor) on system level and component level
(Lead the K38 Engine and after treatment L-Phase testing (Pre-production phase) activity at OEM-
Gen-set level to meet the CPCB-ii Norms)
Data analysis in LMS software

joints for adequate high-cycle fatigue life.
Endurance test by integrating the whole after-treatment system with engine and monitoring the
failure of the After-treatment component at rated speed conditions.
Substrate Re-tension test to check the structural integrity of the substrate.
Salt-spray test on the After-treatment material to check the material corrosion- FFM (Fit for market)

System back pressure test on After-treatment system.
Thermal durability test of SCR(Selective catalytic reduction) Doser unit on Climatic chamber
SCR (Selective catalytic reduction) Doser Component tests- Pump test, Pressure sensor test,
Temperature sensor test, By-pass valve test, Metering valve test, Accuracy test, leak test, durability
test.
Combined Environmental testing- Testing of the Doser fatigue due to combined environmental test
(Vibration profile x, y, z axis with 6 grmp) and temperature range from -40 to 70 Deg C
A brief about Analysis Led Design Exposure-
Simulating the actual supply unit model of SCR-After-treatment system in GT-fuel 1D Simulation tool
and validating with the actual experimental test results. Validated the data at 36 operating points (at
different operating speeds and pressure)
Sensitivity study of the DEF (Diesel exhaust fluid) Supply unit model- Sensitivity study is very
important to understand the dynamics behaviour of the pump valves (valve dynamics) at different
operating pressures and different speeds conditions. The sensitivity study of the Doser pump model
proved crucial to investigate the root cause of flow-rates drop, pressure trends at various locations in
the pump. Based on this study crucial design changes were identified which help the team in
improve productivity by saving in time and reducing the unnecessary testing cost. This project
helped me improving not only my technical, tool, functional knowledge but also proved beneficial in
cross-function interaction, global involvement, understanding the need and improve into the skills
which lead to satisfaction of the customer.
Modelling the Airless-Dosing system- This involved modelling of DEF Injectors in the 1D tool from
scratch. Predicting the pressures at suction and pressure side, flow-rate, Injection profile etc.
Acoustic noise prediction by generating the Impedance data- An After-treatment system is integrated
with Engine calibrated model and predicting Insertion loss and transmission loss.
Fluid volume extraction and discritization using Space-claim and GEM-3D and (Pre-processing tool
before simulation).
Written Standard operating procedure/ Functional excellence practice (FEP) on-
1) Combined Environmental testing- Testing of the Doser fatigue due to combined environmental
test (Vibration profile x, y, z axis with 6 grmp) and temperature range from -40 to 70 Deg C (This
FEP also covers the safety aspect of the testing and important steps to follow in case of fire or
emergency)
2) Thermal durability test of UA2 (Air Assisted Doser unit model) SCR(Selective catalytic reduction)
Doser unit on Climatic chamber
3) Acoustic noise prediction by generating the Impedance data for and After-treatment system
integrated with Engine calibrated model.
4) Functional excellence practice on After-treatment selective catalytic reduction (SCR) air-less
dosing system baseline validation with the experimental results.(Capability development project)

Description: In this thesis work, performance is predicted at different load conditions using GT-Power
simulation tool. This performance is being validated with the actual experimented performance results.
Critical parameters were listed based on the sensitivity analysis on the base model. Critical parameters
were optimized for achieving the desired fuel injector nozzle hole diameter & Boost pressure.
Additional Learning-
Experimental testing procedure for different engine categories according to the application
Component failures and field issues (Got a chance to monitor an engine bellow failure due to increase
in system level back pressure)
