A.Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible to:
 Supervise, implement and deliver the project
activities at the upazila and union level as per
work plan
 Coordinate and provide support to the Quality
Control Officer for overall project
implementation
 Introduce mediation and diversion through
Restorative Justice Mechanism at the Union
Parishad and the community
 Monitor and report on diversion and mediation
through Restorative Justice (RJ) Mechanism in
her/his working area
 Maintain regular contact with key stakeholders
such as the Police to encourage diversion of
compoundable cases
 Maintain regular contact with paralegals for
identifying released prisoners for social
integration
 Organize meeting with various important
stakeholders and community support services for
skill development and social reintegration
 Support implementing mass awareness campaign on Restorative
Justice Approach, relevant laws and rights, against drug
abuse and drug use, and other social issues for legal and
social empowerment of the village population specially women
 Maintain liaison with different actors of the informal
justice system,local administration, public representatives
and other stakeholders to promote diversion and mediation in
Restorative Justice Approach
 Coordinate and organize trainings and workshops
for different stakeholders
 Organize events/workshops/meetings at the
district/upazila/union level coordinating with
the Quality Control Officer and Union
Organizers/volunteer
 Attend to additional tasks as and when assigned
for the project
 Supervise and support the activities of respective Union
Organizers/volunteers, RJ mediators, Master Trainers, CBO
members in project implementation.
 Regularly visit the Police Stations, Union Parishads for
creating scope for diversion and mediation in RJ method
 Monitor and evaluate the technique, decision and outcomes of
mediation through RJ at the community and at the Village
Courts
 Monitor the ongoing activities of the Union
Organizers/volunteers, RJ Mediators, Master Trainers and CBOs
and take necessary corrective measures in collaboration with
the Quality Control Officer and the Accounts Officer.
 Monitor the decisions made through the mediation process and
identify and address the reasons for long pending cases and
take necessary steps
 Maintain liaison with the CBO members, attend CBO meeting and
provide necessary support and guidance
 Identify the members who are not regularly present at the
mediations and motivate them by explaining the importance of
attending mediation
 Assess the work of each Union organizer/volunteers at least
once a month
 Organize/conduct meetings with various important stakeholders
for skill development support, rehabilitation and social
reintegration in her/his working area
 Collect and compile reports from union organizers/volunteers
 Generate and submit monthly reports from the field to the
Quality Control Officer
 Ensure appropriate documentation and information flow to and
from the union and district levels.
 Organize/assist in organizing
events/workshops/meetings/trainings at the
district/upazila/union level with stakeholders,
for effective networking, dialogue and advocacy,
coordinating with the Quality Control Officer and
Union Organizers/volunteers.
 Enlighten the union organizers, RJ mediators and other CBO
members on different laws, rights and other legal procedures
and social issues in the CBO meetings
• Practical experience in dispute resolution through
alternative mechanisms like mediation, Village
Court and Arbitration Council working in a Legal
Aid organization
• Knowledge on the formal justice system and relevant
laws and procedures
• Experience in networking, advocacy and community
mobilization at the local level
• Knowledge and experience on supervision, monitoring
and reporting
• Experience in organizing and facilitating training
and workshop
• Good verbal and written communication skill in
Bangla
