2. What do you mean by Information technology?
 Information technology may be defined as the technology used to
acquire, store, organize and process data to a form which can be used
in specified applications and disseminate the processed data.
Information is processed data based on which decision can be taken and
appropriate actions initiated.
Ex: let us take an example a housewife who buys vegetable, provision,
every day would write in a diary the money spend on each of this articles
at the end of each day she adds up the data on money spends on these
items. The total obtained is the information which she uses to adjust the
expenses to spend within her budget.

business organisation
 From multinational corporation who maintain mainframe system and
database to small business that owns a single computer, IT plays an
important role.

the early drivers of the internet providing a simple and inexpensive
mean to communication.

evolved allowing staff to communicate using live chat system and
video conferencing system.

effectively. Progressive companies use the data as part of
their strategic planning process as well as tactical execution
of the strategy.
 MIS enables a company to track sales data, Expenses and
productivity level the information can be used to track
profitability overtime maximizes ROI(return on investment).
