AHOY STORY
39. • 50/GB – RELIANCE
• 250/GB – OTHERS
• This move has just made telecom sector go weak, cos 4G allocation is
coming
• And it will definitely uplift the cost.
41. SPECTRUMS
• High competitive bidding
• 2G,3G,4G……
• Tata docomo were the 1st to launch 3G in india
• Govt generated revenue of rupees 385 bn.
• 4G biding is coming, and after Jio launch that will definitely give a
boost to cost of companies.
42. Vodafone Group’s CEO stated,
“the problem is that in india there is misperception of what is the
value of spectrum. The reserve prices are set too high. India has very
low prices and very low revenues so we cannot afford to pay high price
for a spectrum. We have told (indian govt) a number of times that the
order of magnitude that they have in mind does not make sense”.
43. That was the crux of why companies have so much high prices (of
course before JIO) of 3g/4g services.
