facilities as part of the nearly $150 million plan

MAKING PROGRESS FOR BOARD DISTRICT 's
NORTHWEST VALLEY SCHOOL COMMUNITIES
As we work to make LA Unified a more transparent, student-centered system that improves academic
outcomes and supports the overall wellbeing of our kids, check out some highlights of the progress we've made
for the school communities of the Northwest Valley over the past few years—and as we just finalized
redistricting and welcomed the Reseda community into Board District 4, keep an eye out for new updates soon!
Hosted a Facilities Forum to discuss new and ongoing projects in
our Northwest Valley schools and answer community questions
about our District facilities efforts
Funded and began construction on a "Nature Explorer" outdoor
classroom project for Toluca Lake Early Education Center to give
our youngest students an innovative new learning space
Funded the construction of a Parent & Family Center at Calvert
Elementary
Eliminated bureaucratic hurdles to make it easier for booster clubs
to use school facilities
Funded the continuation of afterschool programs at Fullbright
Elementary, Portola Middle School, Sutter Middle School, Toluca
Lake Elementary, and Tarzana Elementary
Funded exterior painting project at Tarzana Elementary

the District's "SEEDS" program to enhance
outdoor learning opportunities at Serrania

Toluca Lake Elementary to address safety
