Autism Speaks is a global non-profit organization dedicated to advocacy, support,
fundraising and research for people with autism. Their website includes the latest
research, training materials and a database of treatment centers, support groups and
local events. There is also a video collection of personal stories of people with autism.

The Autism Society of America works to improve the lives of those with autism
through local community chapters. Search for local affiliates by state to find access to
training and support in your area. Additionally, each year the Autism Society hosts the
largest national conference on autism in the US.

Inspired by the work of Dr. Jean Ayres, the Sensory Integration Global Network is a
network of professionals from North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Europe
who share research. The website offers resources for professionals and parents on how
to offer practical strategies for working with specific sensory issues.

Author Nancy Peske hosts the Sensory Smart Parent website with resources,
products and general information about sensory issues. Smaller in scope, this could be
a good place to start for information for both parents and staff.

The STAR Center Foundation (STAR Center) is a Colorado nonprofit that provides
assessment and intervention for children with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and
their families anywhere in the world. The website not only provides a directory of
professionals, but also clear descriptions and definitions to help parents and librarians
learn more about identifying sensory issues.

Geared specifically for parents, Understood provides practical advice, clear definitions
and direct connections to support for families with children affected by a full range of
learning and attention issues. Users can subscribe to weekly emails to stay on top of
latest research and resources.
