Acropolis

1. • Built on a rocky hill, 1.56m. high.
• First inhabited in about 3.000 B.C. by the ruler of the
whole area.
• Later it becomes a place of religious ceremonies
• A temple, dedicated to the patron goddess of the
town, Athena, was built.
• The biggest and most official building of the Acropolis
is the Parthenon.
• Famous philosophers, orators, artists and scientists
gathered there and talked to people.
• The whole world has admired it for centuries.
