Business Case – Status Quo OR Second Berth Status Quo Second Berth • Berth expansion at CHAI wharf • Second berth possible at Coast cost $18.5 M; it is a multi-purpose Guard Wharf berth for all commercial shipping • Would require a capital and cruise ship activities investment that is estimated at • Current berth generates sufficient $12.0 M revenue to cover debt service and • Expanded berth would only be operating costs suitable to cruise ships due to • 2010 Cruise season – 14 ships adjacent developments from April – August (5 months • With single sole source revenue – 32%) ; 14 ships in September (1 long term viability month 32%) and 16 ships in • Exploring funding/financing October (1 month 36%) models for second berth • Extending the season to better utilize existing berth capacity
