2. The MHT-CET or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test
is an annual entrance examination taken by candidates
seeking admission in full-time degree courses of
Engineering and Pharmacy offered by various
government and private colleges in Maharashtra state.
MHT CET (MH CET) or Maharashtra Common Entrance
Test is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test
Cell, Mumbai for admissions to first-year Engineering
and Technology programmes (BE/BTech) and Pharmacy
programmes (BPharma/PharmaD) in the state. ... From
2018, MHT CET was mandatory for admissions in the
state.
3. All those aspiring to pursue the undergraduate course
in Pharmacy in the state of Maharashtra are required to
sit for the common entrance test which will be
conducted by the Maharashtra State CET cell.

as MHT CET is conducted every year, to provide
admissions to B Pharmacy

mainly accounted for in this entrance exam:

4. Qualification for MHCET
Candidates appearing in
the qualifying examination (HSC/XII) in 2020 are
considered eligible. Candidates must have
secured a minimum of 50% marks (for General
Category) and at least 45% marks (for reserved
category and Persons with Disability
candidates) in aggregate of 5 subjects.
5. Candidates applying for a particular course are
required to appear for a specified set of papers.
Provided below is the distribution of subjects,
questions, duration, and marks in various papers:
Engineering candidates are required to attempt or
appear for PCM
Pharmacy candidate are required to attempt or appear
for PCM or PCB
PCM/PCB are divided into 2 Groups/Slots: In Group 1,
candidates will get 90 minutes to complete physics &
chemistry.
In Group 2, candidates will get 90 minutes to complete
Maths/Biology.
6. MHT CET 2020 Exam Pattern
The questions will be based on the syllabus of
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and
Higher Secondary Education.

MHT CET 2020 will consist of the syllabus from
Class XI and Class XII textbooks of Maharashtra
board.

Difficulty Level of MHT CET 2019: The overall
difficulty level of the exam was easy to
moderate.
There were not many difficult questions, and
60% of question paper in all shifts or slots
was easy.
Easy Subject: Mathematics was
the easiest subject in all shifts while Physics
was easy to moderate.

According to MH-CET 2018
results, score between 165 (Highest) - 149 is
equivalent to 99.99 percentile,
a score of 136 is equivalent to 99.88 percentile
and
a score of 113 is equivalent to 98.07 percentile.

Till last year, JEE Main was far difficult, while
MHT CET was comparatively easier. Differences
between JEE Main and MHT CET: 1. JEE Main is
a national level engineering entrance test, while
MHT CET is a state level engineering entrance
test.

Candidates must have passed Diploma in
Engineering and secured a minimum of 50
% marks in aggregate (for General category)
and
at least 45% aggregate marks (for reserved/
backward category/ Persons with Disability)
belonging to Maharashtra State only.
16. Is NCERT ENOUGH FOR MH CET
Yes,the NCERT books are sufficient to get good
marks in board's mains and MHT-CET.
In MHT-CET the questions are at basic level and
in NCERT books content is little at advanced
level .
So,the student of cbse board can easily score

There is no negative marking in the entrance
examination
Every correct answer carries one mark for
Physics, Chemistry, and Biology Papers
and
2 marks for Mathematics Paper.

19. MHT CET Exam Pattern has been released by
DTE Maharashtra with an official notification on
the web portal.
The questions in the entrance exam will be
based on the syllabus of Maharashtra State
Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary
Education.
Approximately 20% weightage will be given to
class 11th curriculum and 80% weightage will be
given to class 12th curriculum while setting the
question paper.
20. The paper will have MCQs and the time duration
to solve these questions will be 180 minutes.
2 marks will be awarded for every correct
answer in mathematics & biology paper

23. The difficulty level will be on par with the JEE (Main) for
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and difficulty level for
Biology will be on par with NEET.
The questions will be mainly application based.
The question will be set on the whole syllabus of
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics subjects
of Std. XII.
However, 10 questions from each subject will be based
on class 11th. MHT CET 2020, being a common entrance
test, the examination has been divided into three papers.

• In Group 1, candidates will get 90 minutes to complete physics &
chemistry.
•In Group 2, candidates will get 90 minutes to complete
Maths/Biology.
Note: Exam will be conducted at all the district headquarters in
the State of Maharashtra.

MHT CET 2020 exam consists of 3 sections-
Section 1 will comprise of Physics and Chemistry,
Section 2 will be based on Botany and Zoology
Section 3 will include questions related to Mathematics.
