2. We researched into many different music videos and
that allowed us to come up with our final ideas for
our video. We used various genres and bands and
analysed ideas. Throughout the next few slides,
there will be videos or screen shots of certain music
videos we analysed and how they influenced us.
There will then be a short explanation of how we are
planning on recreating the scene but with our on
twist.
3. Bon Ivor- Calgary
This video inspired me as it corresponded
to our ideas. It had a female in a white
floating dress walking through a dark
gloomy forest. We wanted a female in a
forest in our video so I analysed this video
and took screen shots of images I liked.
4. Ellie Goulding- Guns and Horses
The atmosphere of this music video
inspired us for ideas of our music video.
The gloominess of the video is something
we want to achieve and give the effect that
someone is alone in a forest being
watched. This video links to Bon Ivor’s on
the previous slide.
5. Bombay Bicycle Club-Shuffle
We took inspiration from this music video
because of the emphasis on performance
which appears in this video. However the
video doesn’t have performance all the way
through, it has a story line to it as well. In our
music video we will have performance a story
line and then visuals of the actors. We believe
that performance will be very important.
6. Puddle of mud- Blurry
This music video I analysed has a
blurry effect added to it. This makes
the footage look distorted and like old
home footage. We want this effect in
our music video that it’s an old tape
found. This video also has an element
of performance throughout it.
Therefore this music video was a good
one to analyse.
7. Coldplay- Yellow
In this video the actor is
emotionless, he walks along
looking sad and shows no
facial expressions and keeps a
down face. We want our
female character to be like this
in our video. Look scary and
confused.
8. After analysing many music videos, these are the
videos I pulled out and wrote about. These videos
stood out to me and collaborated with my ideas. I
feel that using little bits from many of these videos
will allow us to make a good music video that has
good footage in and a good story behind it or along
side with it. This also allowed me to look at
different filming techniques such as angles of the
camera, positioning and effects that it can have on
the footage taken.
