This document summarizes community-based management efforts for small-scale fisheries in Solomon Islands. It discusses using a Participatory Adaptive Management Framework to diagnose vulnerabilities and develop management plans with local communities. Several communities have established management committees and plans to monitor key fisheries indicators. However, external threats beyond local control still impact the resilience of these fisheries. Further research is needed to scale out effective community-based management models, understand how innovations spread, establish broader indicators of success, and address external sources of vulnerability.
