Beyonce
The Beyonce digipak contains photos of the singer in various ways, for example the
main image of Beyonce on the inside shows her as a dominant female through her
posture but other the image next to this shows her in a more feminine delicate way.
These different images give the idea that Beyonce is a woman of capability and can
change from a feminine lady to a strong dominant one, it is as if she is promoting
herself through the photos and giving the buyers an insight into what she is capable
of. This also gives the idea that Beyonce is an appeal for both sexes as she has the
sexy look that males stereotypically go for but she also has the more feminine
emotional side which is what females stereotypically go for. The colour scheme also
links in with this idea as dark colours are used which do not have a stereotypical
connotation, however the colour scheme also allows the images of the singer to stand
out more. The first CD is styled as an old record look alike giving the audience the
idea that the music is suitable for a older audience as the younger generation would
not know the shared knowledge needed to recognise it, however through the use of
her simple second disk we can see that she appeals to the young generation also as in
this day of age it is what a typical CD would look like. The style of font mixes in with
the genre and personality of the singer as although she is R&B she is also a lady so a
pretty graffiti type font is used to get this across.
