Editor's Notes

  • #3 The old saying goes “happy wife, happy life” essentially meaning that the family will not be happy unless the mother/wife is happy. This saying can be directly applied to any office environment, if the employees are not happy, then no one will be happy. Workplace flexibility is necessary to increase employee work ethic and increase company profitability. The best options for achieving this are adjustable scheduling, digital commuting, and offering a vacation bank.Flexible scheduling allows employees to work to choose their working house based on each of their own needs. Flexible scheduling is one of the easiest and affordable options to increase employee morale.
  • #10 Flexible scheduling allows employees to work to choose their working hours based on each of their own needs.Flexible scheduling is one of the easiest and affordable options to increase employee morale. I am going to cover traditional scheduling vs. flexible scheduling. With traditional scheduling, employees work a standard Monday through Friday schedule. On the plus side your staff is working together during prime working hours. With a flexible schedule, employees determine when they work which can include the weekends. The best part is that the company can operate for a greater period of time.

  • #22 The example above shows an employee that may have an important event coming up, perhaps an anniversary. This employee saved 6 hours of work on week 2, and enjoyed leaving early on Monday and was absent from work on Tuesday. By working a long shift again on Wednesday and Thursday, this employee suffered no loss of pay.
