• The trip has been approved by Senior
Management.
• Dates have now been confirmed. We
have held airline seats and have booked
the accommodation
• Cost will be dependant on the numbers
of students. We need to have 25
students to make this feasible.

4. WHAT IS PROPOSED ?
• WHO:
• Up to 40 Year 12/13 Geography Students

• WHEN:
• During the July School holidays
(8th – 18th July 2014 )
5. COST:
• Will be close to $3000 ($3050 last
two years) but depends on final numbers.
This covers:
• Airfare
• Airport Taxes
• Accommodation in Hotel
• Transfers and tours
• Entry to Attractions
• Most evening Food costs
6. SO WHAT IS NEXT?
• We will need to confirm seats in
the next three weeks
• If you are sure you want to be on
the trip:
• Fill in the Yellow contact form and
return this to Mr Smith with the
$500 deposit by hand in R86 or
the Social Sciences office at the
end of week one of next term.
7. • Further payments will be needed to the
school finance office at regular intervals.

• May - Remainder as/if needed when
exact costs are established.
• Regular e-mails will go home to students
to keep parents updated.
• One additional evening meeting will be
held to give final details closer to
departure.
8. Requirements
• Please ensure that you are eligible
to enter the USA without problems.
Those holding a
NZ, Australian, British or American
passport will have no problems.
Other passport holders may need
to ask a travel agent

9. Requirements
• Students must have met all their
school commitments re
fees/behaviour etc. to be allowed to
attend the trip.
• The Geography Staff also reserve
the right to refuse some students
on account of their behaviour.
There is a lot of trust involved in a
trip like this that must not
jeopardise the safety of the group.
11. DAY ONE:
• Depart from Auckland
• Arrive the night before - Mr Smith’s walking
tour
• Tuesday
• Breakfast at IHOP
• Amazing race / orientation exercise
• Diamond head climb *
• Group meal at Chillis
• Evening swim at Waikiki
13. DAY THREE:
• Visit to Factory Shops in Waikele
• Tour of Sheraton Moana Surfrider
• Hula Show and Dinner at Waikiki
Plaza
14. DAY FOUR:
• Friday
• Volcano Day (optional extra) approx $300
extra - Fly to the Big island and go to the
volcano national park to find lava !
• Or Visit the Museum, Zoo and take the
trolley tour of the Honolulu area
15. DAY FIVE:
• Saturday
• Visit to Pearl Harbour and USS Arizona
Memorial
• Visit to Markets
• Hula Show at the Beach
• Evening swim at Waikiki
16. DAY SIX:
• Wet n Wild Hawaii - Waterpark
• Dinner at Cheeseburger in
Paradise

Hotel. Share triple or Quad rooms
with kitchenettes.

system or a chartered bus for the
tour and Transfers.
• All evening meals will be covered
in the total cost of the trip
