Soft Paws Rescue Non-
Profit Organization
2. 2
Non profit rescues without a shelter to house their animals are highly dependent on
their network of foster homes to save animals.
We have observed that most people are not sure what fostering a rescue pet really
means and the benefits of fostering.
Problem Statement
3. “ How might we help Soft Paw Rescue enhance
website functionality and make fostering more
appealing, so they can maintain a continuous and
stable number of foster homes in order to effectively
carry out their mission of saving more dog's lives.”

How might we…..
7. Google Survey
7
The majority of people visiting Soft Paw Rescue’s website are looking
for adoption. Our team saw a potential in the overwhelming number of
applicants waiting to adopt. We wanted to find out how much people
are aware of the difference between fostering and adoption. And if
they learned about the pros and cons, would they be more likely to
consider fostering an animal?
8. Stakeholder Interview
User Research

We completed 4 types of research
● Currently site is not
responsive
● Need more foster
home
● Need online
application form to
simplify the
application process
● Application access
needs to be easy to
find
User Interview &
Usability Test
● Too much
information
● Users think that site’s
primary purpose is
adoption
● Site doesn’t look
trustworthy
● Multiple font type
and size on a page
● Visually cluttered
Google Survey
● Most people know very little or nothing
at all about the difference between
adoption and fostering.
● People are more likely to consider
fostering a dog once learning about the
pros and cons.

15. Final Iteration of Logo
Iteration on Logo
15
Team was contemplating on
redesigning the logo entirely.
After discussion regarding:
● scope of project
● stakeholder’s
investment in current
logo
…we settled for changing the
layout of the elements only
and repositioning it on the
page.

Future Plans
● Create working website on Wix platform.
● Further integrate application processes into
website (away from downloadable paper
forms).
● More user testing!
● Content audit: the site has been simplified
and is the better for it but there may be some
info on the old site that should not be left
behind. A content audit can identify what
should be carried over
