2.  First in Math online activities increase problem solving, critical thinking, and
essential basic math skills.
 Self-paced activities target mastery of procedural skills and fluencies that are
essential for internalizing and demonstrating conceptual understanding. FIM’s
comprehensive content fully aligns with Common Core math standards, as well as
various state and other established standards.
 Fork Shoals School uses First in Math in 1st-5th grades. All students have a log on.
Students use FIM in class, during computer lab time, during library time, and are
encouraged to use it at home.

 Student log on information goes home in student’s folder.
 Students earn stickers and points. Each day, teachers announce the player of the
day. This is the student who has earned the most stickers for that day.
 Player of the week for each grade level, team of the week for each grade level,
player and team of the week for school announced on Monday.
 School goals set my math team. This year’s goals are:
- 250,000: popcicles for whole school
- 500,000: no music at lunch for 3 days
- 750,000: PJ day for whole school
- 1 million: fire department comes for water day

4.  Family Connection: once a students reach 500 stickers, a family link user id
appears on their player homepage.
 Family member can log in and use the site. Family member earns stickers. A
family total is shown which include student and family member sticker totals.
Family member total does not count toward student sticker count or school
ranking.

5.  Can be used for math and reading/ELA lessons.
 Hybridge learning: Activities are based on student’s MAP scores. Focuses on
concepts they need more practice with.
 Aligns with state standards. Teachers can use Compass to support concepts
learned in class.
 All students, K5-5th grade, have access to Compass.
 Students use Compass in class, in the computer lab, in the library, and can access
and use from home.
 Provides data on student progress, areas that need to be revisited, completion, etc.

 User Id is first initial, first 5 letters of last name, student ID # (four digit number,
same as lunch number)

 Helps children build a strong foundation for future academic success by providing
a comprehensive and engaging online curriculum to greatly assist early learners
to succeed in pre-k, kindergarten, and early elementary school programs.
 ABCmouse.com is subscription-based, with no advertising, pop-up ads, or links to
other sites. Children can learn and explore with their parents, or on their own
(depending on age and ability), in a safe and secure online educational
environment.
 Some K5 classes use ABC Mouse in class. Used in computer lab with all K5
classes.
 Students can access from home with a parent access code without having to pay
for subscription.

8.  Provides lessons in reading, math, art, and science.
 Student learning can be tracked.
 Teacher has ability to assign lessons to students.
 The Step-by-Step Learning Path presents the full ABCmouse.com curriculum in a
carefully designed program of more than 450 lessons in six levels. As your child
completes each lesson, he or she is guided to the next one and is motivated to
continue learning by ABCmouse.com’s Tickets and Rewards System.

 Starfall.com is a program service of Starfall Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public
charity.
 The website has been a free online resource since 2002, teaching millions of children
to read and inspiring a love of learning through exploration.
 The website is kid-safe. There is no advertising and does not collect any personal
information from children.
 It is a free reading sight but does offer a membership that offers other learning
opportunities. Members enjoy mathematics, additional reading activities, and songs.

 Raz-Kids delivers hundreds of interactive, leveled eBooks spanning 29 levels
 400+ eBooks and open-book eQuizzes, with new books added every month,
even in Spanish!

 Corresponding eQuizzes test comprehension, providing teachers with skill
reports for data-driven instruction

 Online running records let teachers digitally assess each student, saving
valuable classroom time

 The motivational "Raz Rocket" gets students excited about reading and
strengthens the school-to-home connection

11.  Raz-Kids makes reading accessible (and fun) like never before
 Access for Students: With Raz-Kids, students can practice reading anytime,
anywhere — at home, on the go, and even during the summer!
 On top of being accessible 24/7 via the Web, Raz-Kids also delivers reading access
through its free apps, meaning your students can read and take quizzes on their
iPad, Android, and Kindle Fire tablets.
 All student activity in the app is captured and reported to teachers at Raz-
Kids.com, thus helping teachers monitor student progress and determine the
instruction needed for each student.
