- 2. What are they? Hazcards are cards produced for Laboratory use. They are used as a quick and effective means of information referring to specific chemicals. They state the specific type of chemical and any hazards attributed to the chemical.

- 4. Why are they used? Hazcards are used for a number of reasons: To ensure the correct usage of chemicals. To maintain health and safety in the laboratory. To ensure chemicals are stored in the correct manner. To gain knowledge of how to deal with any incidents relating to the chemicals.
- 5. Their importance Hazcards are important because they allow those who do not have sufficient knowledge to understand the dangers and reactions of the chemicals. They are also important as they explain storage and disposal instructions.
- 6. Regulation The regulatory body is CLEAPSS and its members(LEAs in the British Isles). It has over 2000 associate members. They work in an advisory capacity. Giving support to schools, lab technicians, their jobs and industrial laboratories.
