16. Network Security Test Bed - Overview
Linux based emulator with many of the DVB-S and DVB-RCS satellite
network functions including security:
The testbed can be used for non-satellite networks as well
Interfaced to Ethernet network and dedicated server
A complete multicast security system has been demonstrated over
this testbed including:
Group Secure Association Key Management Protocol (GSAKMP)
Logical key hierarchy (LKH) for efficient key distribution in very large groups
Unidirectional Link Encapsulation (ULE) security has been realised as
define in the IETF RFC 5458.
17. Potential Uses
Trust management between security entities such as senders, receivers,
middle-boxes and security managers.
Internet and future Internet security protocols (including Delay Tolerant
Networks, DTN).
User identity hiding and anonymity.
Key management for unicast, multicast and broadcast using centralised
and distributed security systems.
Interworking between security, QoS and mobility.
19. Satellite Network Test Bed
Supported by Rohde & Schwarz
Opened June 2008
Provides DVB-S and DVB-S2 analysis
capability
Hands-on practical training
2 TVRO antennas on the roof, one fixed,
one steerable.
Ku-band and L-band operation.
Hardware based physical layer
measurement capability.
Interfaced to Ethernet network
and dedicated server.
