Ripples - Center for Enhanced Learning’ is a place devoted to the transformation and growth of an individual beyond
set barriers. It caters to the needs of the ‘Learning Community’- students, teachers and parents. It challenges and
addresses conventional ways of looking at ‘Learning’. All our programmes assist and guide individuals towards
discovering new dimensions of learning.
About the Trainer:
Ms. Afshan Jabeen is a Professional Counselor, Academic Consultant and Dyslexia Specialist. She currently heads
‘Ripples-Center for Enhanced Learning’, a place where she brings new dimensions to learning. She has been active in
the field of education for over a decade and has spoken on various aspects of education in International Conferences,
Workshops and Educational Outreach Programmes. After her graduation from Osmania University, She completed her
AMI Montessori Diploma and worked as a Montessori Directress under the able guidance of Ms. Khursheed
Taraporewala, a student of Dr. Maria Montessori herself. Ms. Jabeen’s passion for special education inspired her to
specialize in the field of dyslexia, from Alpha to Omega Learning Center, Chennai. A one year professional counseling
course followed by the Master's Degree in Applied Psychology helped her immensely in sharpening her counseling
skills. She will soon be a licensed dyslexia therapist as she is about to finish her two year Language (Dyslexia) Therapy
Training Programme, from Mumbai. She is the founder member of DAAP (Dyslexia Association of Andhra Pradesh)
and passionately promotes their cause of ‘Equal opportunities for one and all’. She has worked as Consultant
Psychological Counselor in Glendale Academy International for 5 years and currently works as the same in Kangaroo
Kids Preschool and uses her Montessori, remedial and counseling skills to help children perform better.

2. Montessori Math Magic

As hand feeds the mind, use of concrete material to comprehend abstract concept is the best way to learn. The
Multi-sensory concrete interactions with the rhythm and order of Montessori math materials creates a framework
in a child’s mind and such a framework would serve as the basis on which subsequent mathematical concepts
are systematically organized and stored. This will initiate children in exploring and enjoying Mathematics:
the “Language of the Universe”. This programme is most suitable for remedial instructors, special Ed teachers and
Pre-primary and Primary teachers.
Montessori Math Magic 3 day programme will cover:

 Decimal System
 Four Arithmetic Operations
 Conventional Names of Quantities
 Memorization of Mathematical Combinations
 Geometry
 Fractions
 Time
 Money
The Montessori Math Magic kit includes customized Montessori material and activity worksheets for each of the
above mentioned concepts.
