Research and planning organisation & target audience
1. Target audience:
The sixth form magazine will be targeted at both men and women
of the Nicholas Chamberlaine School Sixth Form. I will target this
audience by taking images of the school and the people they will
know as this will give them something to relate to. Also to appeal to
them in my contents page I will include sections about topics they
can relate to, such as problems with a personal statement and also
tips on revising as this will appeal to the academic nature of the
students . Then I will include some social aspects as well so I will
include information on societies and other social events. This is
because I know that my target audience will not just want to hear
about academic news they will want to hear social news as that is a
huge part of their lives.
2. Organisation of actors, costumes, locations and props:
Since it is a sixth form magazine I will use some sixth form
students for my images as it will make it more appealing to the
target audience as it will make them aware that it is the
students who it is aimed at no one else. My actors will be
dressed smartly as it will set a good example and it will look
more appealing rather than someone who does not look smart
at all as it does not fit what the sixth form is about otherwise. I
will use the sixth form centre study room and take an image of
someone who is doing their work, and writing. I may also take
an image of people playing chess outside the sixth form centre
to show there is a more fun side not just all academic. Another
image I may use could be of a group in the sixth form common
room or even an image of someone doing work in the LRC.
The props that will be needed are: a pen, books, giant chess
set and a computer/laptop.
