2. What are slaves?
Slaves are people that work for someone
that has paid for the slave to do stuff for
them. They were also taken away from their
family. But when their master does not
want them, they free them. But if they did
not listen they would get beat.
3. What makes a person a
slave?
To be a slave you would have to be at least
partially African-American boy/girl. But
your mother would had to have been a
slave.
4. Where Did They Live?
Most Slaves live in the area of the
tidewater where it meets the Coastal plain
in one bedroom log homes. But some lived in
Quarters(slave housing).
Why did they live there? They lived there
because the soil was best and land was
close enough to ports to make marketing
cost low.
5. Things they did
Some things they did were:they bonded, held
religious services, and sang songs from
africa. Also when they were not working
for their master, they would ask to do
something for someone for extra money.
