Cerma Clad Introduction December 2010
1. CermaClad TM High Energy Density Fusion Cladding Meso and Nano Structured CRA and Wear Cladding for the Oil and Gas Industry Product Presentation Performance at the Speed of Light
2. CermaClad TM High Energy Density Fusion Cladding Proprietary high energy density fusion heat source – 1000 to 3000 W/cm2 CermaClad is a high production metal cladding for pipe interior and plate steel. It uses a high energy density infrared fusion source to metallurgically bond a layer of metal composite such as alloy 625, 316L stainless, and Nickel Tungsten Carbide to the base surface. CermaClad Application Width 12 cm to 30 cm compared to 0.7 cm for laser clad
3. CermaClad TM High Energy Density Fusion Cladding CermaClad has an application rate 10 to 100 times faster than advanced thermal/plasma or weld/laser cladding with much greater uniformity and reliability. The CermaClad application process is very controllable. By scaling lamp power, area density, and line speed, applied material properties and subsequent performance can be optimized.
4. CermaClad TM High Energy Density Fusion Cladding The Meso and Nano scale engineered structure of the CermaClad consumable controls the wetting and viscosity of the cladding, to enable a pinhole-free, smooth, uniform cladding/coating to be applied.
5. Cross cut sample etched in 50% HCL @ 200X CermaClad TM High Energy Density Fusion Cladding Cross cut sample etched in 50% HCL @ 800X Due to input controllability and the scalable application rate, a full range of metallurgically bonded alloys can be applied. 3 mm Inconel 625 applied on API X65 Base
6. White Metal Blast Surface Preparation Metal Alloy Application API compliant metal alloy is applied at a designed thickness of 10 to 160 mils per pass EM Fusion Lamps Fused Metal Overlay High Energy Density IR Fusion Lamp produce a metallurgical bond to the surface at a high rate of application.
