2. DRAFTS CREATED
• After creating my cover for the digipak I decided to add to an inside
cover. To help create the inside I did some research into what other
digipaks did. Most of the ones that I looked at consisted of booklets
with the lyrics in or just a little advertisement with merchandise on.
Some even had special limited edition posters in. I originally wanted
to follow the simplistic design with minimalistic features of my covers.
However, I decided that as many don’t really look at the inside that I
would switch it up a little and add more to it. This can be seen on the
last draft. I think that even though I haven’t followed the simplicity of
the covers I have still gone against the conventions set by the genre as
you can often see them with numerous amount of images of the artist
throughout the booklet, whereas in the ones I have created you can
only see tour dates or track listing. Even though I didn’t follow the
simplicity and minimalistic designs set by the covers, I still took
features such as a plain white background with the symbol in the
middle. I decided to do one inside cover that wasn’t as simple and
minimalistic as the rest as I thought that it would give me something
else to work with when creating the poster for advertising the album.
I feel that these designs are professional and authentic as they are
very much like ones created by the professional designers.
