2. Iberian Lynx
● Is a wild cat species native in the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe.
● The natural habitat of these animals are the mountain and the meadow.
● This animal is in danger. In the year 2002 there were only 100 individuals. Nowadays, the situation
has improved because there are 362 individuals but it is still in danger.
● The reason of the decrease of the Iberian Lynx is because of the growth of the population in Spain
that has reduce their habitat and hunters had killed these animals because the skin is very
expensive.
● It is illegal to hunt the Iberian Lynx.
Officials intending ro release captive-bred Lynx look for areas of appropiate habitat, rabbit abundance,
and acceptance by the local human population. About 90 million of euros was spent on various
conservation measures
