What is the Kiva Team Leader Program?
One of the New York Times Magazine’s “Top Ideas of 2006,” Kiva.org is the world's first person-to-person
micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend directly to an entrepreneur in the developing world.
Behind the scenes, Kiva’s dedicated worldwide teams of editing and translation volunteers review each
and every loan description that comes in from the field and prepare them for posting.
The Kiva Team Leader Program helps keep teams of up to 30 volunteer editors or translators engaged
and active. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to use their professional skills to make an
impact, who would love to volunteer with the dynamic, creative organization that invented web-based
person-to-person microfinance, and wants to do all this from the comfort of their home office.
As a Team Leader you will: What are the requirements?
• Maintain regular email contact with your team • Native-level English fluency
to coach, train and problem-solve
• Can commit to 6-8 hours a week for a
