Barnes & Noble Booksellers is a global company that is both well known and well loved, but the business of bookselling is facing a digital challenge. They must compete with the likes of Amazon’s Kindle, Apple’s iBooks, and many other eReaders and tablet devices. They have to compete with the demand of convenience from their consumers. While it’s been a difficult transition for Barnes & Noble over the years, they have proved their worth by adapting to the movement of eBooks with their implementation of the Nook. However, Barnes & Noble needs to refocus its efforts to a digital strategy in order to reach its audience more directly.
