Duration: 1 school year
ICT Tools: Chat, e-mail, Forum, Other software (Powerpoint, video, pictures and
drawings,Google docs,Vocaroo, Voki, Tricider, Skype or Hangouts)
The basic ideas of this project are :
-to create a real connection and friendship between the partner students while learning a foreign
language,
- to give the opportunity to use ICT tools
- to have an idea about other countries and cities in all over the Europe.
PEDAGOGICAL OBJECTIVES:
• To encourage pupils to learn to know each other ,each other’s cities and countries and, hopefully,
become friends.
• To develop our pupils’ abilities to communicate in a foreign language, share information and
connect virtually.
• To enhance our pupils’ ICT skills and facilities
• To enhance our pupils’ understanding and knowledge of different European countries and cultures
2. Activities:
-
-There is an etwinning songs contest.
-Students will write letters to each other (writing skill) :each student will have a pen friend from
partner class.Students also will write stories collaboratively using Google Docs.
- partners will have a lesson on skype or hangouts every week (speaking skill)
-partners will use an ICT tool effectively (technology) every week
-partner students will read a book online every week. (reading skill)
PROCESS:
Permissions from parents for publishing students’ photos (safely) and creating an account in social
media for using them in education.
From all over Europe we will send a mascot TEDDY BEAR , by post, that is travelling from one
participating school to another. Mascot will stay a week in each school. Each participant school is
responsible for sending the mascot on time to the next school.The mascot has its own name, web
site, blog and facebook closed group. When the mascot arrives at the “new” school, a welcome
party will be organized by partner teachers.it goes with the pupils to normal lessons, visits
students’ home , have spare time activities or activities teachers decide to do in their school.
During the visit;students take some photos ,videos ,slideshows, write down what he/she
experiences and share with other Partner school students. The texts should not to be detailed,
only short texts in English. The last day, partner teachers are responsible for organizing a goodby
party either in whole school or in their own classroom. the mascot travels on to visit the next city
and next participant school. We can follow the mascot´s journey from social media and
twinspace.
September - Introductions
Twinspace Forum and Facebook group
• Each student writes a short letter of introduction in twinspace. Students read each other’s
letters and reply to (at least) two by asking for more information. Student /offer /choose his
/her pen friend.Students also send each other letters via post if they want to have pen-friends.
• Instructions for pupils: tell you name and age. Tell a little about your city /country.Tell a
little about your likes and dislikes, your family, your hobbies and your favourite things. You
can also describe what you look like and what kind of person you are.
3. *All the students and teachers should have a project identity card while taking photos,videos
or project activities.

The partner teachers are the admins and they are responsible for the safety of closed group.

answer the questions and reply to each others comments.

Each school will have its own teddy bear mascot.When the real Teddy bear is in their
school,they will already have an experience.

• Pupils take photos with their mascot ; their classroom ,their school, different classrooms

area. They choose the best ones and create a photo gallery in twinspace and in social media.

November - Home and family
• Each student writes a letter about his/her life at home. Schools’ own mascot visits each

• Younger Pupils can draw pictures of their homes and families,or they can share their family
photos.
• they can comment on the pictures and ask more but polite questions.

December - Merry Christmas / New year
• Each student writes a letter ,prepares powerpoint presentations, videos or use an ICT tool to

January - My town/city

Pupils improve their ICT skills by learning more about the place where their partners live.
Process
Step 1
Each class discusses and chooses a series of monuments, landmarks and/or other interesting
5. places in their area. Pupils search for images of the places they have chosen or take their own
digital photos, if possible. Students take photos,videos powerpointpresentations etc. and share
in twinspace,social media,project web site and project blog.Students comment on each other’s
sharings.
Step 2
Once the pictures have been shared, the pupils can write short paragraphs about them which
include interesting background information of the interesting places.
Step 3
Partners discuss the gallery using the TwinSpace chat and Facebook and vote for the most
interesting photos using tricider etc..
Outcomes
Pupils create an information-rich photo gallery of their partners’ towns, regions and/or or
countries.

February - Our home countries
• Each student writes a letter , prepares a powerpoint, create slideshows using various ICT
tools and tells about their home country’s historical places, capital city, traditions, local
cousine, clothing,etc..

about Europe by playing Games or Test your Geography Knowledge )

March - Hobbies, games and free time

6. Our idols - PowerPoint
• each student chooses one person from his/her own country and presents him/her on a
PowerPoint slide. It can be a singer, a writer, an athlete, a musician, a politician…
• the teachers can gather the slides together as a PowerPoint presentation.
• Teachers can add links to different web-pages (exercises, quizzes e.g. Ball or No Ball? -

March/April- Happy Easter / Spring
Pedagogical Objectives
The pupils learn to make observations and write them down. They also gain an understanding
of differences of climate, flora and fauna in different European countries. They develop their
foreign language skills: telling about temperature and weather, describing phenomena in
nature, telling about plants and animals.
Process:
1-Starting activities.
Pupils follow and report the advancing spring by writing down daily temperatures and
weather. Pupils take photographs of snow melting or flowers starting to bloom. They make
observations of migrating birds, insects (bees and butterflies), frogs, snakes etc. Pupils can
keep journals (blogs) about their observations.
The weekly or daily reports are published in twinspace . Students take photos,videos and
share in twinspace,social media,project web site and project blog.
2-consolidation:
Pupils compare the differences in climate and also in the flora and fauna in social media. They
ask and answer questions. Pupils can also discuss different seasons in the forum: what’s the
weather like in summer, autumn, winter and spring in their own country. What do they do in
different seasons, what sports are played, which season they like best etc.
7. April - Food and eating
• pupils exchange recipes of their favourite dishes.
• they can cook their partners’ recipes at home and bring the food to school or they can cook
them at school in cookery class.Students can connect online via skype or hangouts .
• everybody tastes the dishes
• this is documented by photos of the dishes and the cooking process itself
• Students take photos,videos etc . and share in twinspace,social media,project web site and
project blog.
Process:
Pupils write down everything they eat and drink during one whole day. They list their meals
(and their contents) and all snacks and sweets as well. They take photos of their meals. They
compare the results and discuss their own eating habits, they can also discuss what’s healthy
and what’s not so healthy. They can go on discussing their likes and dislikes in general and
their favourite recipes.They can compare the cost of food in different countries.
Pedagogical Objectives
The pupils learn about healthy eating habits and food: energy, vitamins, proteins etc. They
come to an understanding of cultural differences in food habits. They can also develop their
foreign language skills: expressing opinion, likes and dislikes, understanding instructions
(recipes), and their mathematics: calculating joules and costs.
May :Holidays, summer and travelling
• Teachers can add links to different web-pages (exercises, quizzes e.g. Travelling - guess the

Your country – my country
• Pupils prepare a PowerPoint presentation about the PARTNER SCHOOL’S school,
hometown and country – everything they have learned about their partners during the process.
And share them with each other.

8. EVALUATION:
Questionnaire
• Pupils fill in a questionnaire dealing with their feelings and experiences about the
Project
• Pupils evaluate what they have learned during the project
-eTwinning Song competition :
*the songs must be self made songs.
*please send me sensandiraz@hotmail.com a brief description of your school, along with a
photograph, that I will add to the blog, twinspace and facebook closed group so that each country
can see who is all taking part in this song contest.
*Categories are :kindergarten ,primary school, secondary school and high school
*The song videos can be in partner’s own language or in english and the duration is 2 minutes.
* Musical accompaniment is permitted- but only in the following way. Members of your class (your
pupils) who wish to play musical instruments can do so, and your song can have adult help who could
for example, play a piano or a keyboard to lead the tune of the song. Alternatively, you can use a CD
for the tune (but without the original singer's voice) - but your children MUST do the singing!
*All entries should be completed and uploaded by DECEMBER THE FIRST 2014 . When your song is
ready, you upload the video of your song to the project blog,twinspace and facebook closed group .
*all countries will be asked to evaluate and vote for their favourite songs after they have listened to
all the others- and of course, voting for yourself will not be allowed!
*The song contest is on the 20th of DECEMBER 2014.
*the winner schools will get some presents .The presents will be announced a month before the
contest.
